Longarm Quilting
More than thirty years ago my neighbor, Becky, introduced me to quilting. And during the thirty plus years I’ve been quilting I’ve met so many wonderful, talented, artistic quilters who have taught me so much about quilting.
Then one day I walked into a quilt show and saw the Gammill Statler Longarm. I immediately fell in love with another aspect of the quilting world. I had tried hand quilting but was slow and it was too hard on my hands and wrists. A longarm was the perfect solution. I could be creative and get the result I wanted.
In 2008 I bought a Gammill Statler longarm, now called, “The Purple People Eater.” Gammill is the name of the company that sells the longarm. Statler is the last name of the person who designed the computerized portion of the machine. With my background in computer-aided drafting it was a perfect fit for me. I have loved every stitch I have put in a quilt using her. Yes, I believe my longarm is a she/her. She is purple and sparkly. If you want to know how she got her name you can read the story on my blog.
I’d love to add your quilt to my repertoire of quilts that I give careful attention to make the quilting motif fit the piecing design.
